If you have an eating disorder in Cincinnati, Ohio, it’s extremely important that you take extremely good care of your smile, especially if the disorder involves throwing up. However, this does not mean that Dr. Michael Hull and our Montgomery Dentistry team encourages eating disorders whatsoever. In fact, we strongly recommend that you seek professional help right away so your teeth and body can return to being in top-notch condition. Until then, please care for your smile by doing the following things:

-Keep up on oral hygiene: Please remember to brush your teeth every morning and every night, floss your smile at least once a day, and rinse your mouth daily with mouthwash. When doing these things, please use tools that have been approved by the American Dental Association.

-Use baking soda: After throwing up, please do NOT brush your teeth. Brushing will just worsen the effects of the acid. Instead, rinse your mouth with baking soda to neutralize the stomach acid.

-Visit your dentist: It’s very important that you visit your dentist regularly. The dental cleanings and checkups will help you deeply clean your smile and prevent as many dental issues as possible. Your dentist will also have the tips and tools you need to keep your smile in tip-top shape.

Your dentist and our dental team care about you and your oral health, which is why we ask you to do these things. If you have any questions or if you would like to know more about eating disorders and dental care in Cincinnati, Ohio, please call 513.793.2611 today. We are happy to help you!
